Ultramarine is a vivid color halfway between blue and purple. This pigment occurs naturally in lapis lazuli stones. Ultra marinus literally means "beyond the sea" in Latin. Ultramarine was the most desired pigment during the Renaissance, reserved by artists for only their most important pieces.

Likewise, Ultramarine Vintage is an online clothing store that was established to provide only the most excellent and unique vintage garments.

Ultramarine Vintage was formed by three girls living in Philadelphia-- Julie, Naoko and Bella-- who were looking to share their exciting vintage discoveries with like-minded aesthetes. We hope to make our store a testament to the power of certain enduring styles and the singularity of select vintage garments.
